A few things to note prior to booking:

  1. Superior Physical Therapy is a fee-for-service clinic, so payment is due in full at each session. You may send self-claims to insurance for reimbursement if desired.

  2. Superior Physical Therapy is not a Medicare Provider, so law prevents us from providing Medicare patients with what would be considered “normally covered services.” If you are a Medicare Beneficiary and would still like to request treatment at our clinic, please call 651-212-5223.

  3. Superior Physical Therapy is located inside of The Heights Racquet & Social Club

🔹 Dry Needling:

Dry needling is a powerful technique used to release muscle tension and reduce pain by targeting myofascial trigger points—tight bands of muscle that can contribute to dysfunction and discomfort. Using a thin, sterile needle, we stimulate these areas to promote blood flow, reduce inflammation, and restore normal muscle function. This treatment is especially effective for chronic pain, postural imbalances, and athletic recovery.

🔹 Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training:

BFR training uses specialized cuffs to partially restrict blood flow to the limbs during low-load resistance exercise. This creates a metabolic environment that stimulates muscle growth and strength gains—without the need for heavy lifting. Ideal for post-surgical rehab, joint pain, or individuals unable to tolerate traditional strength training, BFR allows for accelerated recovery and performance enhancement under safe, controlled conditions.

🔹 Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM):

IASTM involves the use of ergonomically designed tools to detect and treat areas of soft tissue dysfunction. By applying targeted pressure and movement, we help break down scar tissue, improve fascial mobility, and stimulate the body's natural healing response. This technique is particularly beneficial for chronic tendon issues, post-operative stiffness, and repetitive strain injuries.

🔹 Vestibular Rehabilitation:

Vestibular rehab is a specialized form of physical therapy aimed at treating dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders. Through a combination of eye-head coordination exercises, balance training, and habituation techniques, we retrain the brain and inner ear to process movement more effectively. This therapy is highly effective for conditions such as BPPV, vestibular neuritis, and post-concussion syndrome—and can dramatically improve quality of life and confidence in movement.

🔹 Manual Therapy:

Manual therapy is a hands-on approach to restoring mobility, reducing pain, and improving tissue function. Techniques may include joint mobilizations, soft tissue release, muscle energy techniques, and myofascial work. By addressing restrictions in joints and muscles, manual therapy helps restore natural movement patterns and supports long-term recovery.

🔹 Individualized Exercise Prescription & Education:

Every treatment plan includes customized exercise programming based on your unique goals, movement patterns, and clinical presentation. We begin with a thorough biomechanical assessment to analyze how you move—including identifying compensatory strategies that may be contributing to pain or dysfunction. From there, we design a targeted exercise plan that addresses your specific needs while promoting optimal movement mechanics.
During each session, we closely monitor your form to ensure compensatory patterns are not reinforced. Our goal is to retrain your body to move efficiently and confidently, reducing the risk of future injury and enhancing overall performance. Whether you're managing an orthopedic condition, returning to sport, or simply seeking to move better, our approach empowers lasting results through education, precision, and purposeful movement.

I’m the founder and lead clinician at Superior Physical Therapy, bringing over two decades of experience in the outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine field and a lifelong passion for helping athletes thrive. I earned my BA in Exercise Physiology from The College of St. Scholastica in 2000, became a Certified Athletic Trainer, and completed my Master’s in Physical Therapy in 2002.

In 2006–2007, I completed a prestigious Sports Medicine Residency with Minnesota Sports Medicine, and in 2008 became board certified as a Sports Physical Therapist—a distinction held by fewer than 2% of physical therapists in Minnesota.

I launched Superior Physical Therapy in 2024 to create an environment where treatment decisions are made collaboratively—between the patient and myself—to ensure care is personalized, effective, and aligned with each individual’s goals. My mission is to help athletes of all ages and abilities reach their full potential in their sport, whether they’re recovering from injury or striving to perform at their peak.

Outside the clinic, you’ll find me on the pickleball court, biking local trails, walking my dogs, reading a good book, or playing a competitive game of cribbage.

Hello, my name is Rosa Ham. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Augsburg College and later completed my Physical Therapist Assistant degree at Anoka Ramsey Community College. My clinical experience includes working in settings such as transitional care, long term care, and orthopedic outpatient. I have also led a Return to Sport program for post-operative athletes.

I have been playing pickleball for the past 2.5 years and have developed a strong passion for the sport. My background in soccer and track has contributed to my quick footwork and ability to adapt on the court. I enjoy helping athletes build strength, prevent injuries, and enhance their overall performance so they can excel in pickleball and other activities.

In my spare time, I do enjoy exploring new restaurants, going to the movies (I’m a big marvel fan), and hiking, My favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities is Bar La Grassa.
